SCLT organizes spring cleanup

Social Distancing Spring Cleaning Virtual Party

SHERIDAN — Sheridan Community Land Trust staff and volunteers have invited the community to participate in a Social Distancing Spring Cleaning Virtual Party between March 28 and April 4.

Now that the weather’s warming and grass is greening, SCLT feel there’s no better time to do a bit of spring cleaning. Of course, the community can’t get the whole gang together to give the public spaces a little TLC, but that doesn’t mean locals can’t work together while staying apart to make Sheridan County an even better place.

Volunteers are asked to grab a trash bag and gloves and go to your favorite trail, pathway, park, roadside or stream bank anywhere in Sheridan County and fill a bag with trash. Take a picture with your trash and tag SCLT on Facebook or use #scltyourtrails on Instagram. On April 6, SCLT will announce winners for “Most Picked Up,” “Best Costume” and one randomly drawn participant. Each winner will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks you can use to help support local businesses.

Once you’ve picked up the trash, dispose of it in the two dumpsters at the Kendrick Park Shop across from the Kendrick pool. If you pick up recycling, you may drop that off at recycling collection points around the community.
