Former SC volleyball players look to future in and away from Sheridan
SHERIDAN — Sidney Wilson will no longer walk around Sheridan College’s campus greeting her volleyball teammates and other Generals athletes. Shaelyn Sims won’t schedule her day around SC volleyball workouts and practices and her dental hygiene classes.
But the two will continue to play the sport they love.
“I’m not too heartbroken because I get to continue to play,” Wilson said, “but I really do wish I had gotten to finish one more year at Sheridan.”
The pair’s former teammates, Mikenzy Miller and Payton Vrbas, will still pass the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome while attending Sheridan’s fall classes. Though sadness and disappointment still fill them when they think of their collegiate volleyball careers, their focus has shifted to what SC has to offer and the friendships they’ve already formed.
